According to Mr. Truong Thanh Nha, Secretary of the Party Committee of Vinh Hau commune in Ca Mau province, the commune covers a total area of 232.75 km2 and has a population of 41,899.
Vinh Hau commune was established through the merger of the entire natural areas and populations of the former communes of Vinh Thinh, Vinh Hau A, and Vinh Hau in Hoa Binh district, formerly part of Bac Lieu province.

The commune has a total aquaculture farming area of 14,966 hectares and 4 operational wind power companies with 69 turbines and a combined capacity of 270 MW.
In addition, several projects are either underway or in the planning stages, including a storm shelter and fishing port complex, as well as the Bac Lieu liquefied natural gas (LNG) power plant project, which has a total estimated investment of around USD 4 billion.
"Vinh Hau commune holds significant potential and advantages for developing integrated eco-tourism, clean and renewable energy, and super-intensive shrimp farming," Mr. Nha noted.
Visitors to Vinh Hau commune can enjoy breathtaking views and "check in" at the stunning wind farms, explore local salt-making activities.
Vinh Hau commune is considered the locality with the most scenic wind power projects in the Mekong Delta.
